If you've been following me on social media you might have seen that I've been up and down from London this week, it's been probably the most intense week I've ever had in my career. I know a lot of people wanted to know what it was like to work on shows so I thought I would share my first experience of Fashion week.

The first show I worked on Wednesday was a shoot in the morning and a catwalk show in the evening, it was an incredibly long day but it was an amazing experience. We started 10am in an old abandoned power station in east London where we had to get 8 models ready for the morning shoot. The lead artist was Richard Phillpart who would explain to us what he wanted and between the team, we got each model ready. Most of the looks were natural movement and loose curls, which as you know is right up my street! I felt in my element armed with my diffuser! Once we had prepped the models Richard would come over and finish off the look and then send the model on their way.
After all the model's hair was finished we got to break for lunch and get ready for the influx that would come in for the evening catwalk. I also got some time to watch the models on set which was amazing, I'm in awe of anyone that can go in front of a camera and pose straight away, I look like a potato most of the time.
Once it hit 3pm it was go time again but this time there were 30 models! For their hair, we again created a lot of natural texture and movement but for the long-haired models, we did low ponytails as well. This period was intense, getting that many models ready was a challenge, mainly just due to the logistics of having that many people needing different things done! But thankfully between us, we got it done and got everyone on the line up!
The models were all dressed and backstage for the line up I got to go and check all the models hair for any imperfections just before they went on stage. I really enjoyed this bit, although it was a challenge to check all the model's hair when they were all over 6ft and I'm 5f, I may have to invest in a steppy stool. The catwalk show was at 7:30 pm but for me, that was my job done, everyone was looking beautiful and all that was left was for me to pack up and go home.
The day was so fast-paced but I felt so excited by it all, I loved working with such a diverse set of people in a supportive and creative environment. I certainly was knacked by the time I got on the train though!
You may have also seen I was on another shoot on Friday but I will save this one for when the photos come out because trust me this one will blow you away.
